no battery juice
i got this car from a lady, apparently the starter was no good, so i changed it, it ran for a couple of day n one day i went out n when i comeback to the car the battery is out, so, i thought it was either the battery or the alternator.... i had to jump start it n i got home n parked the car for about 5 day cuz i didnt have any money to try n fix it...... 5 days l8r i'm cleaning it n decide to try n start it, n it turns on, so i didnt think it was the alternator anymore so i took the battery to autozone n it passed, so it was good, only thing left in my mind is the alternator... i took it off n took it to autozone again, it turns out it passed the test too, so its good, so theres something else wrong, anyone any ideas what it is???
I am a little confused, you said the car turned on. Was the starter able to spin the engine? If the engine won't turn over and you have a known good battery, then you may have a cabling problem, or a bad starter, bad start relay, or even a seized engine. However, being that you were able to jump start it, as 94z28shaker indicated, I would suspect a bad connection at the battery end. Either Neg or Pos. Wiggle the cable ends and make sure they are tight. Also, is the security lite staying lit?
well the last time my opti died, i could start it up when it was cold and had been sitting around 8hrs but if i shut it off after driving it i couldnt get it to start up, just stating a possibilty, especially if he says the battery and alternator is good along with the new starter
