Not sure what it does. I have tried it in "A" and "M" and can't seem to find anything the runs differently when driving it. If I get some time, I will try to get it out of the dash and trace the wiring back. But I have to clear out the garage to make room for the Z in there before I can move it in for some quality cleaning and service work. While it is in there, I will check the wiring for the ABS wheel sensors and maybe get lucky with a loose connector.
A side question, if I get lucky and find a loose connector at the wheel, will the ABS light go out or will I need to get the code cleared?
Well, found the problem after reading a ton of posts here and on a few other sites.
Like someone mentioned, it was my rear brake lights, the third set. When I checked for brake lights, I only checked left and right and neglected the third set. Opened it up and the PO had put some oversized bulbs in it, not sure the type because they were completely smoked. Replaced with the factory 194s ($2 at local store) and the ABS INOP light went out. Took her out for a quick spin this morning and the Cruise Control is now working.
So, other than having an "A / M" switch on the dash that I have no idea what it is for, the Camaro is running very nicely.
Now to continue with various service items (oil and tranny change, general tune up, etc) to get her ready for the summer!
Found out tonight that it went to the alarm. I say "went" because I removed the alarm tonight. It was a pain and I only had one keyfob for it. It was a "Maxiguard Warrior" alarm, and searching on the net it appears that they are long gone. And parts (ie keyfobs) are no longer available. So off it came. I will get a better, newer alarm to help protect my ride.

I have a 93 Camaro base 5 sp. Calfornia car. I have taken great care and maintained it mechanically But I have had an ABS INOP light that flashes and no cruise control. Brakes operate fine. No shimmys, all rear break lights work. I'm out of ideas how to fix this and should I worry about losing breaks? Wheel speed sensor or 5 amp fuse?
The picture below is from the 1993 Firebird Service Manual, but should be the same as the 1993 Camaro. The highlighted topic explains the what the different ABS lights mean. You're mostly going to need a scanner capable of reading braking system trouble codes to help find the problem.
I took a look at the Brake DTC's tonight when I had more time and found that only a couple codes would effect the ABS system and the cruise control that would flash the warning light. Are you sure the third brake light in the spoiler is working? Like what was mentioned above, if the bulbs in the third brake were burnt out, it would trigger DTC 096 and the warning light would flash.
