Hey I just bought a 1997 SS 30th anniversary. It was overheated before I got it and now I need to do a rebuild but I want to make it into a street/strip car. I would just like to know of some good mods for this engine while I rebuild it. And also the gas gauge doesn't work its stuck right under the half tank mark. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks.

 

Gas gauge will be cuz of a stuck float in the fuel tank or a bad circuit some where.

 

Thanks I had heard that it might be a bad ground on top of the gas tank what do you think the probability is of that.

 

Mods for your engine are like any other cam head work and boreing it out you may want a bigger throttle body and injectors if your planing some thing major.

 

I was actually wondering what type of cam because i'm not sure what type to put in.

 

Check with one of the cam companies, tell them what you have & what you want to accomplish. The will recommend what is most suitable.

 

As for the engine rebuild, you could go ahead and build a stroker for about the cost of a 350 rebuild, but if you go the sroker route, you should aldo upgrade the heads, cam, and exhaust.
