so this long useless looking tube on the intake... what the hell is it for and can i get rid of it???

started on a pnp gasket matched today only got one runner done and the second started i ran out of dremil bits

No you can't get rid of that "long useless tube".

The only way you can get rid of it is get an aftermarket aluminum intake elbow, or take it out and duct tape the hole closed like the stupid previous owner of my car. I bought my CAI and it came with the intake elbow and got rid of that. If it's open, the car will turn on and shut off immediately.

ya i knew about the hole in the intake and it not wanting to run i was more thinking the intake maybe needed it

so i ended up pulling the heads off the engine today to finish up my port and polish i do have one question... why in the world does there need to be 17 headbolts???



now it looks like the heads were taken off my a crocodiles jaw lol so i cut this like (i assume its an oil line maybe) so ill replace it with a braided line








i also smoothed out the combustion chamber








now i just have to go through it again with some sandpaper to smooth the grind marks and well be all good
