Too bad that you are not in the PNW. I would take it off your hands just to have as a project car.

If you are seriously considering looking for a car with a blown engine, just remember that you got into this one not knowing its running condition. A car with a blown engine would be a similar gamble.

I don't think that it could the torque converter. Those things usually work or they don't. When they fail, they generally fail completely and don't work sometimes and not work other times.

I am still thinking that you have an electrical issue somewhere.

so after not looking at the car for 3 day i decided to check the trans fluid and it was way too full so i drained out most of it and got it to the right spot. then took her for a drive she drove great shifted nice all the way up to 4th (i went to the gas station about a mile down the rd) got some gas and was heading home when she started to mess up again. when i ran out of momentum and had to stop it was like i was in neutral so i just sat there for a min or so (engine still running just in park) put her back in drive and she moved. got her back to my track and it did the same thing again i waited about a min and she moved pulled into the driveway and she didnt have enough power to pull up and into the garage... again i waited a min and as last she pulled right up the driveway into the garage... if its electrical why would just sitting have any affect i never turned off the engine i just sat there

Wow, that is pretty wierd. I can't think of a reason that it would do that. Maybe check with a local transmission shop. Describe the problem to them and see what they think. Just know that most will probably tell you that you need a rebuild or some such. But you just might get lucky and find a guy who can give you some ideas of where to look for the problem.
