muffler removal

Default muffler removal

I have to change my fuel pump so i went to take it off and....how the hell do you get the inlet from the muffler out?

arg. i was trying to pull the pie out. twisting, pulling, wood and a BFH. i split the pipe a little....if id have known to just cut the damn pipe...

The problem is the clamp puts a crimp all around the pipe and locks the two together. I take a sawzall and cut the outer pipe at an angle starting from the end. Just cut through the outer pipe, but not as far in as the inner pipe is. Then with a chisel and hammer, get under the open cut end and peel it out a little. That should loosen the grip enough to get it off.
