Thumbs up v6 muffler

i have a 95 3.4 5 spd and i went to Midas to check out prices on having them make me a catback with dual exhaust outlets ($392.17 which to me is too much). the guy chose a flowmaster crossflow with 2.5" inlet diameter and 2 2.5" outlet diameter openings. so i asked him do they have a one with 2 3" outlet and he said it would sound like s**t. so i wanna know what everyone else would say about that and give a personal opinion on the sound and muffler.

I have a flowmaster crossflow with 2 2.3" outlets. It sounds just fine and deep for the v6 except when ur hitting high rpms, it doesnt sound too attractive. but its a v6 what more can you ask for. You'd probably get somewhat around the same results with a 2.5" when you hit high rpms.

I dont believe it does make much of a difference but i cant say for sure, its only 0.2". The reality is that a v6 will almost never match the sound of a v8. You would probably need a few upgrades and bigger pipes to come close to v8 sound at idle. And as for the annoying high rpm sound... ur stuck with it. =/ but a camaro is a camaro and it will always produce that deep american rumble!
