Alright figured I would ask.

And the whole MSD system does increase spark energy just like putting it on a Gen 1 motor. I just didnt know how it compared in performance but I figured the coil packs would still be better. Im having a hard time finding all the information on his web site, what are all of the features/adjustments in the box. Also what was the reason that the truck and MSD coils wouldnt work. I know the wiring is the same.

I know the MSD adds spark energy, that's what I said. I don't know what you mean about the truck coils not working.

Benefits of the system are: extended opti life much stronger ignition at high RPM/boost built in adjustable rev limiter / two-step built in adjustable N2O / boost retard. It's just plain cool.

The two step being built in is nice. And looking at his sight it says a cretin type of truck coil and the msd coils wont work. I was curious as to why.

The round body truck coils with the metal fins (19005218) DO NOT WORK

I didn't know about the those. I got mine from a 6L truck off ebay. Was worried about getting one or a few dead ones, but they are working fine.

Yea I was just curious as to why the ones with the fins like off of the 5.3l would not work.

Fair enough. The 5.3l coils are usually cheaper is why I asked. Sounds like a good setup. It is something I will be doing in the not so distant future.
