so i looked and looked for a tread on here that explains how to identify if you got lt1 or lt4 heads. The reason i'm asking is i just bought a car with some mods that smack you in the face as soon as you pop the hood but when it comes to identifying the heads is there any stamping on lt1 that are different from those on lt4 heads. Also can some on help me on getting some traction i order a 2700 stall is there anything else i can do to move the car instead of pilling them off the line
P.S. i have nitto nt 555r DRag RAdials

LT4 head casting # 12555690. Also it should have a LT4 intake manifold as the LT1 manifold won't fit. LT4 manifold id usually red and is taller than the Lt1 unit. Also LT4 heads are equipped with aluminum rocker arms (gold) and 3/8" rocker studs instead of 5/16" studs.

If you are looking for more traction, the higher stall will make it worse. Get good sticky tires, make sure the rear end has posi or some other sort of limited slip, and that it is in good shape. Put in better rear LCAs, subframe connectors to make the car stiffer. A fat rear anti roll bar will help in launching by holding the rear level under power, but will mess up cornering. You can also put in drag shocks all around, but that will also mess up handling.
