Could be the dreaded Optispark issue,do a search here and you'll get tons of info on it.

I've had an optispark problem before. It made the engine run crappy since it wasn't constantly firing on all 8 cylinders, which is a typical symptom. It would have to be more of a catastrophic failure for the opti to completely kill the engine. Could happen, but much less likely. I too suspect the fuel pump is going south.

ignition control modual will do that to. so was the filters full of crap. i dump the gas from the filter into a jar so i can see if its getting a lot of stuff or if i just changed a good filter. my truck did what u are saying and it was the pump and the pickup was rusted to $hi&

Joey, a car needs fuel, spark and air

we all could throw ideas as to what it could be. it might be in your best interest to take the vehicle to be tested by a trusted shop. It could be

optispark
coil
ig control module
fuel pump
loose wiring
bad cables


or a host of other items
