LT1 heads

LT1 heads
I need advice... I have a 1994 Z28 6spd I believe I have a blown head gasket. the symptoms; it starts to overheat after running a while or standing still, oil is not milky but very thin it drips easily, white smoke from my exhaust with a bad smell, and it shudders/shakes on 1st gear and reverse ( I dont know if its my driving but I dont believe so)........ I have a couple options; rework the heads, but what low price mods can I do to it since it is off already? ( valves, etc?) or there is a guy selling some reworked heads off of a 1996 LT1 firebird for $200 with stock parts, would these go on my car?

LT1 heads are interchangeable yes. the 96 heads would fit fine on your car.
other things you could do at the same time would be 1.6 rockers and you could do lifters as well(won't add power but something for maintenance). other than that it really depends on your budget for other mods

It may be a leak or perhaps a blockage in the cooling system. If you are not familiar with antifreeze smell ask someone who is to guess what the bad smell is. The cars are prone to block up the radiator and overheat. One cause is the early 100,000 mile anti freeze had a stop leak that caused the sytem to mud up and fail. It is cheaper to replace the radiator than the heads, but not as much fun.

yah could be somebody mixed two types of antifreeze and it gel'd up. if u have a bad or stuck injector dumping fuel into the cylinders it could b draining to the oil. have the car scanned and see if u r running rich.
