LT1 383 stroker shuts off
OK a few weeks ago my opti went out and i just replaced it with a new opti. But when I start it, it shuts off after 4 - 5 seconds. Could this be the opti not working properly. I bought the opti at autozone, could that be the problem? I already replace the opti last week because I wasn't getting any spark now the car wont stay on. I also replaced the coil for a msd coil. I also checked my ignition control module and its working properly. I don't know what else it could be. Any suggestions?

Was it a reman opti? AZ (and all chain stores) tend to sell a lot of reman parts. A lot of time that doesn't pose a problem. But the opti is a different beast.
You listed the opti, cap and rotor seperately. Did you buy the pieces and put it together?
When I replaced my opti, I used a GM Performance one. It cost a bit more, but I haven't had a problem with it. I've heard that guys who use other than genuine GM parts have a hot or miss experience when it comes to optis.

wes just went through the same thing with a old opti, at least he thinks it was old. the car would start for a few minutes and die. if you gave it gas it would die right away. i thought for sure it was the fuel pump but we checked the presssure and it was right on 43lbs. so after changing the ignition modual, map, maf, plugs, plug wires and coil and after finding a scanner that would work on a 95 a dtc16 came up i told him thats usually the opti so he changed that and it was the problem. now im not saying for sure thats whats goin on but thats how it happened with this guy.
