ok i have just purchased this used hypertech chip for my 93 z28 camaro from this guy who had a 93 z28 camaro who had wrecked his car. both of our cars is a 93 z28 and auto matic. my question is will i have to have this chip unlocked to work on my car and what gains am i looking at from installing this chip. so far my mods are shift kit, hooker aero chamber muffler, and cai. i will also be installing the hypertech stat as well. thanks.

 

The 93 model takes a plug in chip that plugs into the ECM, you should have no problems. Whether or not you are going to see any difference is another story.

 

yeah it all depends what the programming on the chip is, you could have different mods or setups
