help please car hits a certain temp and shuts off

oh and when i replaced the opti i didnt do the cap (no monies) it wasnt that corroded so i hit it with a wire brush and put it back together. i know i need to replace it cause i think its the origional one but i couldnt at the time

icm
so i was doing some research on the icm, and i remember when i put the new one on i didnt use any new silicone grease when i installed it, so it might have gotten to hot
