Does anyone know anything about heads for an LT-1? Because i cant find any, at least not better-than-stock heads. (the link to jegs is mostly just example, although if i could use those that would be great) And can someone clear up the reverse water flow this talks about? Is there anyway to get it to flow "normal" so that i could use them? Anyone have good recomendations or personal experiences? help+thank you!

RE: heads
The stock LT1 heads are a pretty good head, and you really don't need to upgrade to different heads unless you are going for a full racing application. With a good port and polish job on the heads, you can get 480+ HP out of the stock heads. I'd suggest get a good port/polish instead of dropping big bucks on a decent set of heads. If you really want some heads that are better than the stock ones, I'd suggest AFR(air flow research) heads, they make quality heads, and you really can't go wrong with them.

RE: heads
The stoke heads if worked properly will flow better than Trick Flow's head for the LT1. The whole reverse flow thing is to keep the engine cooler I think plus I don't think there are any water jackets in the intake for a normal head.

RE: heads
The Lt1 engine uses reverse coolant flow, where the cooled water from the radiator goes to the heads first and then to the rest of the block. It cannot be reversed without a lot of work. The LT1 heads are similiar to the Vortech heads an flow about the same. You can upgrade to LT4 heads which have better flow numbers, but you will need a LT4 intake to match up the ports. AFR makes a bunch of different head for the LT1, but they come at a price. You can get the heads ported and with a matching cam and get some really good numbers. Check this site out.
