having trouble with my fans not working right
i have a 1993 z28 camero lt1 motor and 6speed trans. got car last summer. and ever since then my fans dont come on unless i turn my a/c on. thats not normal operation so if anyone has any advise it would help big time! thanks..... jake z28[sm=nxsmile.gif]

Check the engine coolant temp sensor (ECT) & wiring from sensor to PCM, including connectors.

For a quick test, pull the connector from the sensor & strap a 70 to 100 Ohm resistor across the leads. Turn on engine, if fans go on the ECT is bad; if fans do not go on then the wiring is bad.

hey pete just wanted to let you know that test worked like a charm. i put a 100ohm resister acrossed leads thenpowered motor fans came right on. now i just got to get a new ECT sensor, thanks again...... jake z28 hit me back keep in touch[sm=nxsmile.gif]

whats up pete i put ECTsensor in today and i'll be a son of a bit@# the fans still acting the same as before i put the new one in. the fans only come on when i turn the a/c on still. I dont get it when i put the resistor in the fans come on, then i put new ECTsensor in now they dont work unless i turn on the a/c any advise please hit me back...... jake z28[sm=nxsmile.gif]
