Default Gettin rid of the LT

I want to know what you guys think. With college coming up and the LT's maintenance record, or atleast the 97 z i have, im fairly sure ill need a new car considering i will be working less and traveling a longer distance. I have been looking around for another camaro and so far my search has turned up little, but a 96 rs caught my eye and a 99 z28 also. Im fairly sure i could trade straight for the RS but i want to keep the power of a Z-28. Sadly both are automatics though so i have debated holding on to the 97 i currently own and riding out murphys law until nothing is left to go wrong. Im dont really like that plan but i may have to due to financial problems. So what would be better, get the RS, i do like the 3.8 for a v6 it has some aftermarket support, but i really like the LS1 but i would need to pay a little more for that...what would you do?

I'd keep your car. You'll miss the power of the LT1, and the LS1 may be a bit better, but almost all of them use oil because of issues with the rings, I'd say keep the LT1, just take good care of it!

If you've maintained your 97' Z well then I would just keep it and then eventually upgrade to the LS1. Once you have a V8 its harder to downgrade to a V6. Besides if you get the 3.8 you would most likely regret not waiting a little while longer to get an SS.
