Default muffler build

Im willing to bet this is something new to the forum.... one day with nothing to do i decided to design and build a muffler for the '94 formula basically just to see if i could do it. so i drew up a couple blueprints and went down to the shop and whipped out some sheet metal and a 6 inch grinder with a cut off wheel and cut all the peices i needed andweldedthem together into a very unrestrictive pattern then i went to town and bought a 3 inch pipe adapter and 2 2.5" adapters and put them in it like the stock crossflow mufflers have, then i ground down all the welds and polished it up a bit with a wire wheel and painted it with aluminum color 1500 degree ceramic paint after 10 hrs of work. Then i removed the stock exhaust and put on my muffler. i started up the car and much to my suprise it sounded awesome! later on I put some 90 bends on it and it quieted it down a lot. did this happen because they werent mandrels? ill try to get some pics and maybe a sound clip of it on here. Im going to put 4" stainless steel straight cut tips from magnaflow on it.
