Semi accurate way of measuring fuel mileage:
1) Fill tank to top and record odometer reading.
2) Drive around till time to gas up again. (down to around 1/4 mark)
3) Fill tank to top again. An this time record the amount of gas needed to fill up. (gallons & tenths)
4) Record odometer reading again.
5) Subtract first odometer reading (step #1) from second reading (step #4) and record miles driven.
6) Divide the number of miles driven (in step #5) by the number of gallons used in step #3. This will give MPG.
7) Repeat above procedure several times and get average.

I get about 18-22 depending on how I drive it. ('94 Z28 with A4).
If you are only getting about 140 miles per tank, something isn't right. I would pull a couple of the spark plugs and see if they are black, indicating a very rich condition. Then, I would double check to make certain that I got all of my sensors reconnected. Also, scan it for any stored codes.
