fuel pump?
let me start off with the fact that this is my wife's car and it has been sitting for about three years now and it ran fine when i parked it, i think i already know the answer to this question but i would like some opinions before i go through the pain of removing the gas tank to replace the fuel pump, it will crank but not start (unless) i spray some mass air flow sensor cleaner into the intake, it fires up and dies, i have replaced the fuel pump relay, no good, checked the voltage to the relay, checked voltage coming out of relay (gray wire) going to the fuel pump, has voltage for a few seconds, checked connector at the tank, same thing, can't hear the "whirring" sound the fuel pump is supposed to make when you turn the key on, so............fuel pump replacement or does somebody else have another idea

yeah, i forgot to mention that, i checked pressure @ the schrader valve, 0 p.s.i., i even tried depressing the needle in the schrader with the key in run position and nothing but a little dribble, i read in the pump pressure problem thread where you used the hatch method to replace your pump, and i posted that was the way i was going to replace mine but after thinking about it i figured i would drop the diff. since i have a lift in my shop, thanks for the reply!!

Go over to your PCM and find this wire:

Connect it to the + terminal on your battery and listen for your fuel pump. This should bypass the PCM/relay and cause the fuel pump to fire right up, even without a key in the ignition.
If your fuel pump is dead I'd go ahead and do the trap door mod to remove and install. You can use a Dremel to cut open the hatch without sparks (did mine Thursday when my pump finally quit, took about 6 cutting wheels).
