Default Front end problems

Soooo I've got major front end problems, need new lower ball joints, control arms, alignment, inner/outer tie rod ends, and hub bearings. I wont touch any of that stuff so I took it to a mechanic I know and he said it'd cost around $1100 to fix it all. Does this sound about right?

Steering shakes always and shakes extremely when braking above 40mph and loud banging noises occur. Also, LF wheel is way off where it should be, almost an inch away from the rear fender wall.

if both sides are done and oem parts are used then thats not a bad deal. cant pack these front bearings so in order to change them u change the hub. the good oem hubs are spendy, couple hundred ea. and thats not from a shop which do charge more. the hub and tierod ends are really easy. ball joints are not. is he replacing the control arms or the control arm bushings?

He'd be doing both sides yah, and the LF lower control arm is bent so he would have to replace it entirely. as far as oem goes, I couldn't find the control arm anywhere and neither could he.

Whenever I can get this done I'll be hanging out with him learning as much as I can, never had to do anything with this kinda stuff so it'll be a nice learning session too .
