Default Electrical Problem

My '94 Z28 is having a spot of trouble. I think it's an alternator problem, but I don't want to drop money on a new alt if I don't have to. Anyways, my lights flicker, the voltometer jumps between 12ish-14ish volts, and the "check gages" light flickers... all simultaneously, with a misfire. Any suggestions???

Check that all cables are tight. Then get alternator tested if still having problems, also test battery it could be breaking down internally.

Will do... I just bought a new 800 CCA battery on Monday and that helped a bit... thanks for the input.

Okay, so I got the alt checked... it's working fine. I cleaned all my battery connections w/ baking soda and water. Bought a new battery to accessory cableand cleaned all my grounds, and have a terminal end for my alt to batt cable coming in today. Got the alt checked and it's fine. The battery I just bought is going bad apparently though, it's just borderline. My fuel pump is whining so I think that might have something to do with it because it corresponds to the fluctuation in voltage.
