CraZ28's Engine Build Thread
O' and when you open up the engine block stand back and let that sucker air out. Iron is very porous and soaks up oil and expands. It was great seeing my block after the machinest had it, nice, clean, and dry. Keep us posted on your progress. In case you have not "pulled" an engine out of a "F" body you may want to unhook and lift the body. It is very hard to get some of the bellhousing bolts and such started while in the vehicle.
I will definitely keep all posted
God Bless America! I just broke my engine in on the Capitol Beltway. Short burst of cool crisp air. I could feel the rings building pressure. Keeping the pressure off the clutch I eased on the power. My oil pressure holding steady at seventy even at idle, stock replacement GM pump......Yes...About a hundred and fifty miles on the engine, another few miles and I'll change the break-in oil.
Check that. My milage is two hundred and thirty seven! She was a little hard to turn over with the stock starter but now with a couple seated compressions she fires right up. No fluid loss, A/C cold, heat on demand!
