Default cooling fans not working after installing optispark

I did a search but couldnt find the info I need. My cooling fans worked fine until my opti started dieing and I had to replace it. I have a 94 camaro z28 6 speed. I replaced the coolant sensor that screws into the water pump. I did not go with a AC/Delco regrettably. I checked the cooling fan relays and they are working. I jumped them out and also swapped them around and also tested the contacts with a multi-meter while applying voltage to energize the relays for testing the contacts. Can I unplug the sensor on the water-pump and jump the connection to the ECU to see if the fans come on or do I need to add a resistor into the circuit? Thanks!

no do not put power to either wires you will do damage to the ecm. if you unplug the sensor the fans should come on. if not then the issue is not the sensor.

test the temp sensor on the water pump using a ohm meter to see if its working correctly. http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#ect

Thanks craby,
I will try unplugging the connector and if that does not work I will test the sensor. Thanks for that link, lots of good info!
Peace
