completely new!
ok I can only imagine how tired you guys get of newbies lol but I know nothing about these cars. I'm a big diesel guy. I know all about torque and black smoke! just bought a 95 z28 lt1 car runs great. But my first instinct is what can I do to make it run even better and im not just talking about the normal intake headers and exhaust. Thats a given. Im wondering about Heads, cams, pistons, crank. Just wondering what I have to do to get to the 450wrh range. I would appriciate any input. Thanks Guys.
check this site out and give lloyd a call. great guy and willing to help in gettting your hp goal.

to safely get in the 450rwhp range, i think you'd want to go with a stout 383. a quality heads and cam package that craby suggested would get you there, but i think you'd be best off starting with a fresh engine to get you there.
if it were me, here's what i'd do
callies dragon slayer 3.75" crankshaft
probably a lunati 6" forged rod
diamond forged flat top pistons
i'd do a 4 bolt splayed block for extra security
i'd then call up lloyd elliott, the one craby already suggested with the link, and see what he suggest for heads and cam to meet your goals.
then its pretty much up to you and your engine builder to select the proper bearings and crap and getting it put together PROPERLY!
hope that helps...we never get tired of newbs...need someone to pick on! lol. welcome to the site man!

thanks for the info. now what all doese the 383 stoker kit involve? keep in mind I dont know anything bout these cars. lol. Im asuming it changes the stroke of the moter. but how. and what does it do?
stock bore of the engine is 4.000
to make a 383, you bore it out to 4.030
stock stroke is 3.48"
for the 383, you use a 3.75" stroke crankshaft
a kit should include the crank, rods and pistons. advanced induction sells a really solid 383 kit that you wouldn't have any trouble with
