car cranks but wont start
I own a 1997 Camaro z28. this has plenty of miles on it. so here's the story. I was driving one day doing 60 put it in neutral to coast down to the next speed zone. car died. I tried restarting it while going and then pulled over and attempted again. had it taken back to my house.
I checked for fuel pressure and I have 41 psi at the Schrader valve. tried to start it with starting fluid and just opening the throttle body and spraying it while cranking. still didn't start. checked for spark and I had none. thinking this and knowing the opti is a piece of crap I opted to change it. still wouldn't start so I had an ignition coil on hand. changed that, still no start. so that brings me to changing the entire ignition system from the distributor, ignition coil, ignition control module, and even the crank position sensor. still wont start. I am going mad trying to figure out how I'm not getting spark any help would be appreciated. thank you.

have you looked at this https://camaroforums.com/forum/lt1-l...37/#post579761 can also download the manual in the manual section at the bottom of the home page.
my security light has been on for years. I've never had a problem with it. I've had problems with pass lock on another car before but the light blinks rather than stays on. I've also changed icm and the ignition coil. I changed the icm today and it still didn't start. the only thing I haven't changed is the pcm. i'll get out in the morning and try to check the power to the coil out. how could I see if the security light is causing this?
I seem to remember when I was having opti troubles reading a similar story somewhere and it turned out to be the damn plug on the wiring harness.

Not the problem I had but could be yours, sometimes it's the little things you don't expect. Good luck, these things can be frustration especially when you throw money at them and nothing woks.

i'll try replacing the plug. i tried to get my security light to go away and it wont. i put the key in for ten minutes and the light stays lit. i don't think this is my problem, i looked into it and if it's the security light it cuts fuel not spark.
