Default can you advance the timing on a LT1 motor?

I was just curious if the optispark distributer on the LT1 motor can have the timing advanced on it, if so how much would a race shop cost you to do this.

Requires computer tuning. The spark is automatically advanced to the pinging point and then automatically retarded just enough to avoid pinging. No need to mess with the spark timing.

MSD makes a distributor that you can tweek and adjust but its not a very wide range. A few degrees both way I think.

Also try using 93 or 94 octane and check your plugs.
