yeah I was planning on following the new cam guide totally..(-Valve Springs
-Roller Rockers-Pushrods-Lifters-Gaskets-Timing Chain & Gear Set-Valve Stem Seals-

MAYBE Optispark/Water Pump...

and I'm not too concerned about time consumption. I've got all summer.
I'm I Roseville near Sacramento just incase any of you are close and could give me a Han if I desperately need it.
so I guess I'm convinced. thanks for savin me at least $1000 haha

any suggestion whether I should replace the optispark or water pump with almost 70k miles?

To be honest, since you will already have it apart, it wouldn't hurt to replace them both. Just don't skimp on the opti - go with genuine GM parts on that piece. There are a lot of cheap, crappy, units out there that look good, but they aren't.

yeahh I'm just not sure "it wouldn't hurt" is worth $600 lol

pick up a factory service/shop manual. it will take you through step by step. only way to go.
