Blown Head Gasket- How to remove intake

cool removed the intake and had room to the fitiing off! I see where the gaskets was bent/warped/burnt on the driver side cylinder closest to the firewall. I dont want to but I will, remove the other head as well and replace that gasket. thanks for all the help so far. What should I clean the block surface and cylinder walls with? Should I clean the piston heads too?

with the heads off, not difficult at all. You'll need a valve spring compressor ( rent at parts store if you don't have one) and don't lose the keepers when you take them off.
honestly, if you aren't sending the heads out for a 3 angle job then at least lap the valves in addition to seals.
it all comes down to how much money you have
if you just need to chuck it all back together to run for however long due to zero funds then so be it
if you have a few dollars then replace the seals and lap the valves
if you want to do it the best way possible, bring the heads to a machine shop and have them refresh them. This of course will cost you several $hundred

I can't stress this enough.....you want to know that your heads aren't warped. Aluminum heads can be touchy, especially after possibly getting overheated; "I see where the gaskets was bent/warped/burnt on the driver side cylinder closest to the firewall"
DIY'ing your heads is fine, but having to do it all over again because of another blown head gasket won't be any more fun that you're having now. Probably less fun, with having a sore butt from kicking yourself.

well to be honest i dont have a lot of money atm to have the heads redone. The car will more than likely be sold anyways. If not then Ill invest the money and time and have the heads gone through at a later date.
For the passenger side head how do I remove the alternator/pulley mount in front of it? It seems to be blocking the first bolts for the exhaust manifold.
