Exclamation blown head gasket

I Just bought a lemon 99 camaro but im not wanting to give it back... although the head gasket blew within 24 hours of purchase of the car i'd rather spend time and money on replacing the head... the only thing is i dont really know on how to tear down and replace the head... and if i need a new head or i can use the same one... also how long i can keep the oil in the car before rust starts to form... i know quite a bit about engines as i always tore my old car apart and put it back together but i dont know all the process in fixing something like this...

I am assuming this is a head gasket blown on a supercharged, turboed or nitrous car since it is in this forum. Changing the head gasket is time consuming but not an impossible job. You will need to have the heads checked at the machine shop to make sure they are not warped or cracked. I would go ahead and drain out the oil if it has coolant mixed with it. Drain out all the coolant that is left, put in new oil and crank the engine over a couple times to get new oil cirulated through the engine.

Wow, that sucks. Did it look pretty good when you were test driving it? Also, maybe think about picking up another engine?
