Get the heads resurfaced, otherwise you will be doing the gasket job again in the near future.

just reading you rpost I get a sence of a beaten, exhausted man albeit slightly tipsy and extremely frustrated with the task at hand.

What do you have in the way of shop literature?

the heads may or may not need to be resurfaced but its a good possibility, especially with aluminum heads.they should be checked with a straight edge to make sure there isnt any warping present.and if they have to be resurfaced, if there is more than ten thousandths of an inch taken off the heads, the intake manifold will need to be matched
