Default blew a head gasket yesterday..(GT2 cam)

I'm thinking since I'm half way there going with a GT2 cam.. Wanting some help of what to replace to keep it RELIABLE. (not my DD, but I do take trips with it.)

The engine has 135k.

I have already:
timing chain
damper
most gaskets
105# springs

replace pushrods?

with the gt2 cam, take a look into the yella terra push rods and rocker arms. the gt1 cam pushes the limit of the stock pieces. are you going to do a full rebuild, or simple gasket replacement and put the cam in while youre working on it?

good sites for 3800 parts are ZZ Performance and INTENSE-Racing.com - Pontiac G8, Grand Prix, Bonneville, Regal, L67 3800 Supercharged Performance Products, Mods and Tunes.

Its not going to be a full rebuild. but I'm not going to just throw in the cam. The new rockers a must?

I always buy my stuff from ZZP if I can.

the gt2 cam will work with all the stock parts, but if you are going to running it hard and at high rpms, it will only be a matter of time till something bends or tweaks. also, that cam moves the powerband to 3300-6300. you may want to consider getting a tune to take full potential of that powerband

You also might want to think real hard before running you stock 135K motor over 6K.

Read this website. It breaks down the specs of the GT1 and GT2. GT2 recommends new pushrods, but is not required. Stock parts should work just fine. It also recommends other upgrades to get the maximum and best use out of the cam and your car. If you can afford it, upgrade whatever you can to help support that bigger cam.

I run the GT1 and LOVE it. Such a great investment. It will work great with my boost build.
