im pulling the lt1 out of my 95 z28 and taking it to my uncle to rebuild. whats the best complte kit out there? i would like to basically replace everything. any kits that will help performqnce without haqving to bore it out. any input would be great, thanks. just got a decent bonus at work so spending a lil extra wouldnt be a problem.

 

what are you looking to do here??? are you going for stock? mild build? race car??? you want new internals???
boring isnt a performance mod its more to re-round your cylinders (which depending on how the engine was maintained most likely needs to be done anyways)

heres a good idea but it requires the block to be machined (which again probably needs to be done)

to parrot BasicConcepts, if done properly, it's not up to you if the engine should be bored or just honed. Your uncle's machine shop, or the shop that he uses will measure everything and
and advise on how much/little work must be done for a proper rebuild.

Do you know if that machine shop is good at porting LT1 cylinder heads? Or, are you going for a basic 3 angle job?
