I just had this problem with my '94. My cruise control didn't work either.
Believe it or not, the PO had put some incorrect bulbs in the third brake light and they were both burnt out. Replaced them with the proper bulbs (194) and both problems solved.

There is some sort of funky wiring that doesn't make sense to me on these cars.

does it shack when u put the brakes on? if not then its the tires or alignment or ball joints or tie rod ends... lol. yes a brake light shorted or out can mess with the system.

The pulsing you get when you apply the brakes is likely due to warped rotors. Warped rotor can cause the ABS to get confused and turn on the ABS lite. A steady ABS lite indicates the system is deactivated but the car will stop OK without ABS. If the ABS lite flashes it indicates a serious problem which can result in brake failure. If the RED brake light is on, there could be a serious problem with the brake system or the hand brake is not fully released. And, yes the brake lamps can affect the ABS system. Try to get the rotors fixed, and that may even fix the ABS.

Couple points to check:

1) brake lights - including the one in the spoiler
2) front bearings. The ABS sensor is included in the bearings.

This is what happened to me (#2) - the car would not have the ABS INOP light on at start-up, and it seemed like there was no braking power until the ABS cut out and the light came on.

Usually a guy with a scanner can pick out which sensor is bad. I wound up replacing a bad bearing, which is how I figured it out... (not recommended... lol)
