'97 Camaro Z28 Question
Hello...
I'm currently thinking about purchasing another car. I have been to a couple of dealers and I stumbled upon a couple of Camaros. The problem I'm having is finding enough information on problems with the '97 Camaro Z28. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to deem the car problematic, I just don't want to spend money on something that will in the long run cost me much headache. I need something I can work on easily, and isn't going to stay in the shop provided I can't fix it myself.
Anyhow, I came across a 1997 Z28 Camaro at the dealership today with 126,000 miles on the O/D for about $6,500.00 which I could more than likely get for $5,500 if I put some effort into the purchase ...
The question is this would it be worth the buy if I did purchase the car. What are the most critical things to break down on this car? What are somethings I need to look for at the dealership. I know these cars tend to have the HELL DRIVEN out of them because of their power. I just don't want to be the one who purchases one that's on its last leg.
I had the pleasure to fire it up at the lot, but I didn't get to test run it, I plan to later on provided if I'm able to get more info on the car ....
Thank-you!

Btw..... it has an automatic transmission ....
My previous car had a crappy transmission what's the deal with the Z28 gearbox? Can I expect better things with a chevy designed gearbox over a ford one ...
