I have a 95 Camaro V6 3.4L. I want to swap the engine out with a 99 or newer LS1. I have found engines and trans. for about $4000, that come with all the wiring harness and ecm. I know I need a new crossmember and all the belt driven acces. I also know Im going to need a new rear end, new guages and a fuel pump. I have heard some people say that I will need new suspension up front for the extra weight, is this true. What else will I need for this swap. I have alot of time to work on the car and I know its going to take along time but has anyone ever done this or can you give me any pointers. Thanks alot..

 

Save the 4 grand, sell your V6, buy an LS1 car, it will seave you a lot of work, and most likely cost less tahn doing a conversion.

 

Well I would do that but I bought the car brand new in 95 and there is some sentimental value with the car. I will have the car forever thats why I want to modify it. I have had a lot of people tell me the same thing but I want to do this. Thanks for your help though.

 

avoid it i just put a lt1 into my 93 its a f++++ckin nightmare buy a 8 cyl its easier

 

If you are fetermined to do it, put in a LT1 instead of a LS1, it won't be easy but it will be a lit simpler than trying put in a LS1. What you really need is a LS1 donor car to go with the engine.
