Default 8 pounds of boost.. turbocharger

i have a 1995 camaro z28 i was wondering if i have to change the pistons to low compression pistons or does thecar handles the turbo ....i have a friendwho hasa 06 mustang and the car is stock . the mustang handles the turbo... he already put 88 thousand miles on the car so i was wondering was the situation for my camaro?

your camaro is much higher compression than the mustang, so yes, you will want to lower compression to reliably handle boost. is the mustang currently turbo'd? your description is a little confusing

A stock LT1 will handle 8psi with no issues (with agood tune of course)

stock compression is 10.5:1, 8psi would work with a good tune, but from what some of the lt1 guys around here say that would be pushing it, like going over 10 on a pi mustang, u can do it, but if ur tune fails anywhere you may be in trouble.
