4:10s and cats

ok here goes for 2 ?s 97 z28 with 3:42 gears i am going with 4:10 gears does anyone run this in there 4th gen car if so can ya let me know what to look forward to.... this is my weekend car so i don'r care about gas just looking for some proformince reviews its a 6speed man. the sec. ? getting a set of pacesetter long tube headers for it and i have always run 2 1/2 in or 3in dual pipes with lil 2 no restrictions on my cars b4 can the cats be cut out and still keep the o2 sen. on it or should i run high flow cats if i rember right my exhust has 2 cat and has dual pipes till right b4 the catback muffler do the lt1s need back presure 2 make good hp or is more flow better. i have no emmissions here so i can do what is best for power and my alttuide is some where around 5000 if that matters

4.10's are great gears for 1/4 mile, and hi flow cats only make 6-10 hp less than straight pipes, but if you have no emissions I'd just run straight pipes to the mufflers. Get 4.10's. I have run 3.42, 3.73, 4.10 and 4.56 gears and my 1998 z28 went fastest with the 4.10's, it is a 6 speed. Keep in mind the higher the gear ratio the weaker the gear set is.
