Default 95 Z28 SHORT SHIFTER BUSHING ????

I purchase a short throw shifter for my 1995 Z28 and when I removed the stock shifter, I noticed that there was no plastic bushing in the cup where the shifter goes into. The installation manual shows it, but its missing. I tried to find a replacement at www.gmpartsdirect.com but can't located it or a part number. I assumed I didn't need it until an episode of horsepower TV aired showing a 1998 SS getting a short shifter upgrade had the mysterious plastic bushing in it !

Any help would be appreciated.

the dealers have them, had to replace mine , you just remove this pin, slide the lever off and replace it with the new lever and put the pin back in and the new lever will have the bushing pressed into it, I think I paid between 40-50 dollars for it, just a guess on the cost, it's been a while.
