Have 2002 Z28 6 speed. Has run great until yesterday when getting into first gear became very difficult with a lot of shudder involved. Rest of the gears work perfectly. Check engine light also came on. Any thoughts on what could have gone wrong?

 

so are u saying it wont go into gear very easy? or its running crappy and wont take off well?

 

Engine running great. Just very difficult to take off in first gear. Two days ago was very easy to take off. No shudder at all. Now I can not get going in first gear without significant shuuder. Getting it into gear with clutch engaged is no problem

 

could be oil on the clutch plate. that will do that, also if the clutch plate is going to pieces.

 

It was a bit of oil on the clutch plate - performing much better. Thanks!
