Default truck ls1

I spoke to my machine shop guy today concerning obtaining a ls1 he told me that chevy trucks 1999 and newer have ls1 iron blocks in them is this true? He had all good things to say about the ls series and said they are doing more and more of them.

They have 6.0L, 5.3L and 5.7L iron truck blocks. The heads, cam, intake and pistons are different. The block itself is a very good starting point if you are building a very high power engine.

GRIFF, There is a 4.8L one also. I hear the truck guys on the chevrolet forum complain about them all the time.
