Default Starting problems

Heres the long story, I have never had any problems with my car not starting (02 z28), then yesterday I drove it for about an hour on the interstate, stopped for about an hour got back in started with no problem. Drove for another hour, stopped and then car would not start for 20 minutes. Motor would turn over, just no spark. After 20 minutes it started fine about ten times. My first thought is that it was something to do with passkey, so i put the door key in the ignition then the ignition key, same thing would not start for about 20 minutes. So i thought this was the problem. I drive the car for 30 minutes, turn it off and immediately try to restart and will not start. Tried about five minutes later and started.

I think it has to be one of three things so I was wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this. I think its either a bad key, bad ignition(on column), or ignition relay. The chip in the key will move about a tenth of a millimeter, also the ignition is tight (not sure if either matters?). I had to leave the car and will pick it up later so I dont have the car in front of me right now. Please let me know what you think, or if you have any other idea what it could be please let me know. Thanks in advance for the help.

Default RE: Starting problems

Carbon buildup on the plugs, and possibly terminals? Bad plug wires?

Does the starter sound as strong as usual?

Default RE: Starting problems

Found out what it was. It was the ignition relay. Ive never had a relay go bad on anything but i guess theres a first for everything.
