Default Similarties of LS engines

How similar are the different variations of the GM LS engine? LS1, LS2, LS6 etc.

I'm not planning any kind of swap just rather curious.

They are all very similar. LS1 and LS6 are the same displacement, the LS6 has a better cam and heads, the block is very slightly different but not enough to do anythinthing or cause parts not to interchange. The LS2 is more cube than the LS1 or LS6, yet uses the same basic design. LS7 is 427 cubic inches and is a hihgly evolved engine, dry sump oil system, CNC machined heads, etc.

For the sake of the thread, could you swap any of them into the 4th gen f-body chassis? I assume yes on the LS6, and I've heard of the LS2 being done, but how about an LS7?

yes with the correct harness and ECU you can swap them. ANything can be done with enough money and time.
