Default Royal Purple vs Ams Oil?

Okay, i've ran Royal Purple in my 2000 Camaro 3.8L and my wives 2008 trailblazer since day one with both of them... The question boils down to which is better, RP or Ams Oil. Both boast amazing performance and all the perks, but i'd like some opinions of fellow owners. Obviously I want full synthetic, but which one is best?

A lit of puffery. IMO both overpriced and overhyped. However; it makes some people feel good to spend more than necessary.

Both are about the same. I run nothing but royal purple in my TA but it might see 5000 miles a year and probably 2-3 oil changes in that time so i don't mind the extra. But for a street driven car i think you would be ok with a more budget friendly oil.

End of story they are about the same.

Pennzoil Platinum is usually one that is recommend, and I use it too. GM runs tests on some oil brands and recommends some over others; I THINK Pennzoil and Mobil 1 were both on the list.

I hate Pennzoil products. I saw the inside of an engine with 40k miles, that had never been run on anything but Pennzoil. I was the worst, gunkiest, and simply the worst engine I have every seen. It was terrible trying to clean up the build up.

Maybe Pennzoil Platinum, is different, but you will never see a Pennzoil product at my house.

I've always had great luck with synthetic Pennzoil Platinum, it seems to be one of the more recommended ones on most forums.
