race fuel?
My car has minor mods exhaust, lid, headers, tune, K&N thats pretty much it. Will it be safe if i use 101 octaine fuel to run my car at the strip or will this hurt it? Im currently using 91.
I'm not 100% sure but I think the new cars run faster with 89 then with 101. It's all in how your comp likes to burn the fuel. I'm sure some one here has played with it a little enough to know for sure.
You will gain nothing by using anything more than 93 octane in our cars, unless you are running a turbo, blower or nitrous. Our cars have 10.25:1 compression which is not enough to need race gas. Octane does not magically make power, it is actually a rating on the resistance of a particular fuels ability to resist pre-ignition. Don't waist your money 91-93 will be fine. BTW don't use 89 either, the engine will detonate and the computer will sence it and pull timong which will slow you down.
