Default Oil Change Light

Whats the deal with my oil change light? I just changed the oil no more them 500 miles ago and my oil light keeps popping up on me. I don't think its my oil cause I use the german blend castrol? So what could possibly be the deal?

Did you reset the light after the oil change?

Just in case:
After changing the engine oil, the system must be reset.
1. Turn the ignition key to RUN with the engine turned off.
2. Push the TRIP/OIL RESET button located on the instrument panel for 12 seconds. The OIL CHANGE light will start to flash to confirm that the system is reset. The reset is complete when the OIL CHANGE light goes out.

But I've never done that before and the light never came on till now. And I just put 100000 miles on it a few weeks ago

They don't really work too well. Just a pain in the ***. I'm glad as **** my truck doesn't have one. My Camaro is too old to have one too. If I did have one though, I'd just blow out the light.
