i got under the car and found out it was the idler pulley

 

You asked a question that is pretty much impossible to answer over the internet. You did what you should have done in the first place, get under the car and look.

 

we are just here to give you ideas on where to start, or suggestions on problems we may have had. sorry if we couldnt help, but then again, Camaroforums.com is NOT a mechanics shop, and we cannot troubleshoot problems from the comfort of our keyboards. the best way is to get under the car and check it out. usually, when the problem is known, we know how to fix it. for example, timing, tune up, performance, etc.
