Default new gears

just ordered a set of GM 3:73 gears. curious how difficult the gear swap is to do?

If you never done it before, and you don't have the proper tools, you could have a "wonderful" learning experience.

lol ya I assumed there would be nothing easy about it. I will probably price local shops to see what they would charge. they are all just so dang expensive around here though.

GM high tech just did a article on swamping gears in a LS1 car. It was a good read and highlight the key mistakes people make. If you have never done one i would pick up a copy and figure out if you do in fact want to take it one or not.

May want to check with a shop that specializes in off road vehicles, they work on a lot of broken differentials.

any idea what the stock Gear ratio is in an 02 Z28 A4? i've been given alot of different answers but I thought it was 2:73? correct me if i'm wrong

Thats what mine had. Now it has 3.73s

I checked the door code and it is 2:73's
