Motor died..What options?

so its knocking and not tapping? if u want to rebuild the current motor dont run it any more. pull it out and have it bored and stroke it up if u can afford. probly in the area of 4k. depending on whats busted and how u wish to do it. a standard rebuild can run from 2k to 4k depending on what has to be replaced. if the crank needs turned, rods wasted, cylinders need bored, heads warped or cracked, stuff like that can add a lot of $.

it will likely be cheaper just to drop a new motor in or just replace the bottom end.

if you want to keep your streetablilty I'd say just do a rebuild or a crate engine

from my expereance the cost is about the same for a rebuilt motor as rebuilding. (unless theres a rod suck in the side or something like that) the piece of mind u get is the payback. u know what has been done and done right. if u remove and install that saves some bucks.
