I have the z28 in my sig, but it just might be time to move to an LS1. I found one for sale with a cam, ported heads, ls6 intake, carbon fiber lid, 3500 stall, headers, exhaust, zr1 wheels with new nitto NT04rs in the rear. The guy only wants 5K for it so it sounds like a good deal. The problem is, he said he tuned it himself, but didnt finish the tune and lost the box or something so it still needs a few tweaks. The issue he said is that the "converter does not lock up consitently due to misfire detection from the cam". Does this sound like its just the tune, or not? Ive had cars misfire before and not effect the converter at all. If it is the tune its ok, im going to have it tuned by a professional anyway.

 

yea if the tune is hosed that can happen pretty easy. If he has the specs on the goodies he put in the engine then you can get a tune from PCMforless for a reasonable price and be good to go.

Im pretty sure has all the specs if not most because hes done all the work himself. I think im just gonna spring for a good dyno tune so ill know power numbers

Well, of course he told me it wasnt abused and never taken down a strip, but I think I call bs on that, but its to be expected. Its supposed to run a low 12, if not a high 11.
